George Cables has emerged as a major voice in modern jazz. In his musical career, Cables has prowled sidestreets and main thoroughfares, absorbing countless influences into his personal style. He has performed and recorded with some of the greatest jazz musicians of our time, including: Joe Henderson, Art Blakey, Sonny Rollins, Dizzy Gillespie and many more.
Jamaica Q 5k Walk/Run
Join us on Saturday, September 27th at 8:00 A.M. for an exciting day of fun, fitness, and community as we celebrate the 5th Annual Jamaica Q 5K! Whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, this event is all about coming together, staying active, and supporting a great cause. Plus, the course is USATF certified, ensuring a professionally measured and exciting race experience!
Harvest Festival
Every year, our community convenes to celebrate the beginning of fall with our Harvest Festival. Join us September 20th for food and shopping.
The Harvest Festival is free to attend, and open to New Yorkers of all ages.
Constitution & Cocktails
Join us at King Manor Museum’s Annual Cocktail Party Fundraiser, an evening of history, celebration, and community spirit!
Raise a glass in the historic home of Rufus King (1755–1827),framer of the Constitution and antislavery Senator. Enjoy over two hours of open bar, live music, gourmet hors d’oeuvres, games with prizes, museum tours, and a once-in-a-lifetime Constitution Day surprise!

NYC IT GIRL IT Walk
Presented by NYC IT Girl Collective, this free self-guided art walk will be taking place across Jamaica Avenue, from 146th Street to 171st, at participating small businesses. Over 30 New York artists will showcase a vibrant mix of styles and creative media. Plus, enjoy community resources like back-to-school giveaways and art workshops all week long.

"Beyond Familiar" Opening Reception
Curated by Wanda Best, the Beyond Familiar exhibition incorporates visual representations reflective of the Pop Art movement. The goal of the exhibit is to see your unique perspective on growth in a creative and lively manner that reaches outside your comfort level. Go beyond your familiar boundaries. The interpretation of "growth" can be personal, observational, or represent a natural progression of change.

Join us at ICSC LOCAL QUEENS for an exclusive opportunity to connect with community and business leaders driving the borough’s economic momentum and urban revitalization. A panel of industry experts will discuss redevelopment trends across New York City, and what is next for Queens.
Networking reception with refreshments and hors d’oeuvres, as well as an optional tour of The Monarch*, an exciting mixed-use project in the heart of Jamaica, will immediately follow the panel.
